Hire or reskill biomedical talent with up to 90% salary support.
The Career Conversion Programme is a Workforce Singapore initiative that funds a large share of a mid-career hire's salary during on-the-job training. HRGrant.com supports you through the entire application process.

Eligible roles & support duration
How long support runs depends on the role you're converting into. These are roles we commonly help biomedical employers fund.
Process Development Engineer
Develops and optimises manufacturing processes for biologics, vaccines or medical devices in a regulated GMP environment — from bench-scale feasibility through to full commercial production.
- Design and scale up bioprocesses from lab to pilot to commercial manufacturing scale
- Validate equipment, processes and cleaning procedures in compliance with GMP requirements
- Investigate process deviations and out-of-specification results, drive corrective actions
- Author technical reports, protocols and regulatory submission documents
Employers can hire a mid-career professional with no prior bioprocess engineering experience into this role and claim CCP — the government funds up to 90% of salary (capped at S$7,500/month) for 12 months while the new hire trains on the job. The subsidy makes it viable to bring in someone converting careers into biomedical manufacturing.
Have a different role in mind?
The roles above are common CCP examples, not a closed list. Other roles may qualify depending on the sector, job scope, candidate profile and training plan.
Why biomedical CCP support can run for 12 months
Biomedical manufacturing roles often involve regulated GMP environments, cleanroom discipline, technical documentation and quality systems that are unfamiliar to candidates coming from other sectors. That is why the biomedical CCP pathway can support a longer training runway than many general business roles.
For employers, the 12-month duration can make it more practical to hire a strong mid-career candidate who lacks direct pharmaceutical, medtech or laboratory manufacturing experience. The support period gives the new hire time to build role-specific competence while reducing the cost of that conversion period.
The exact eligibility still depends on the candidate's prior experience, the proposed job scope and the training plan. We review those details before application so the role is positioned clearly under the correct CCP pathway.

Frequently asked questions
The employer does. CCP reimburses a portion of the salary you pay the employee during their training period, lowering your cost of hiring or reskilling — it isn't a payment to the worker.
The higher 90% rate applies where the employee is aged 40 and above, or has been unemployed long-term. Otherwise it's 70%. Each rate has its own monthly cap — $7,500 and $5,000 respectively.
Support length is determined by sector. Biomedical Manufacturing roles get 12 months — the longest available. ICT roles get 6 months. F&B, Supply Chain, Wholesale Trade, Education and all other cross-sectoral roles get 3 months.
Both. CCP supports new hires moving into a converted role and existing staff being redeployed or reskilled into a substantially different role. We'll confirm which pathway fits in your consultation.
We'll be transparent about fees in your consultation, structured to make sense against the support you stand to receive. The initial eligibility assessment is free.
